The system

Why steel

Wood is what you touch. Steel is what holds it. The DeckKing frame is levelled with a precision no timber subframe can match, ignores moisture, and holds the deck's geometry for decades.

The frame is 110,000 ₸/m², installation already included, and it is never discounted: it is the load-bearing structure, not a bargaining line. A client pays for three things — the frame, the timber and the care program. The separate 25,000 ₸/m² rate appears only when we lay our boards or cladding onto somebody else's substructure.

What the system includes

A terrace is five things. DeckKing covers four

A terrace is timber, oiling, the frame, the fixings and installation. Assembled piece by piece, that's five contractors and five places to get it wrong. With the DeckKing system you make two decisions — the species and the care program — and the rest is included. All five components with prices →

You choose · The species

Thermo-karagach, ash, oak, birch, pine. Color, grain and budget — from 31,600 to 86,490 ₸/m². We show the samples in the flesh in the showroom.

You choose · The care program

Color Care, Signature or Legacy. It sets both how the terrace looks years from now and the term of the No Warp, No Split guarantee — 2 or 6 years.

How it goes together — in the mountains, in winter, in snow

This isn't a staged shoot: an ordinary job in the mountains above Almaty, in December, in snow and below zero. We show the whole of it because the photographs demonstrate exactly what is written above — members arrive already coated, the frame bolts together on adjustable feet, and the fixings disappear into the edge of the board. Winter, incidentally, doesn't stop the frame going in: it is steel, not concrete.

DeckKing frame members delivered to site already powder coated
1. It arrives finished. Powder coating is done in the workshop — no cutting and no painting on site.
The GrillKing name cut into a DeckKing steel beam
2. Our name is on the beam. This is a manufactured product, not box section bought at the market that morning.
DeckKing steel frame bolted together on site
3. The frame is bolted, not welded on site — so there are no spots where the coating was burnt off with a torch.
DeckKing frame on adjustable pedestals
4. Height is set by adjustable pedestals. If the ground settles or an earthquake moves it, the deck is brought back to level.
Underside view: DeckKing bracket and the ventilated gap beneath the boards
5. The underside. Factory bracket, and air under every board. Timber dries from both faces, which is why it doesn't rot.
WoodPower thermally modified boards going down on the black DeckKing frame
6. Boards go down onto a finished frame. Joist spacing is calculated for the board section, not guessed at.
Hidden deck board fixing: stainless clips and screws
7. Fixings are hidden and stainless. There isn't one screw head on the surface to bleed rust down the board.

8. The finished terrace. Gaps are even across the whole area — that comes from the frame, not from the installer's patience.

9. And the point of all of it. From here on it is oil, once a year.

From above you can see what the frame is for: the plane holds across the whole area, gaps even from edge to edge.
Three engineering decisions

Why this frame outlives an ordinary one

Powder coating and the GrillKing logo cut into a frame beam

Powder, not a brush

Members are cut, prepared and coated in the workshop, before assembly. An ordinary frame is cut and welded on site, then brushed over — through dust, with no preparation, and often over rust that was already there. Every site cut and every site weld is bare metal, and that's where the corrosion starts.

A DeckKing handrail with stainless cable and the GrillKing mark

Stainless fixings

Screws, bolts and clips in stainless steel. A fraction of a per cent of the quote and a decisive share of the lifespan: connections rust first and fail first. A terrace rarely dies of its boards — it dies of whatever the boards were fastened with.

DeckKing frame posts on concrete pads with height adjusters

Adjustable for height

The system can be re-set for height after installation. Ground settles, foundations move, and Almaty has earthquakes — the frame is brought back to level by adjustment rather than rebuilding. Re-levelling is part of our 8 visits and is covered by the guarantee.

What a welded frame can't do

The terrace can be dismantled and rebuilt

A frame welded in place exists exactly once: to remove it you have to cut it apart. DeckKing is bolted together, which means it can be taken down and reassembled — with no loss of load capacity and without buying a new frame.

That matters in two situations, and both surface years after handover:

  • You change the backyard. The pool moves, a kitchen goes in, the landscaping is redone — the terrace can be rebuilt in its new position rather than thrown away.
  • You move house. The terrace is your property, not part of the plot you're selling. We dismantle the system and reassemble it at the new address.

Dismantling and reassembly is separate work with its own costing; the frame itself doesn't have to be bought again.

The No-Sag, No-Break Guarantee

This is an appendix to the supply agreement, not a paragraph on a website. Six years from the date of installation, on the frame — whatever decking you chose, and whether or not you're in a care program.

What it covers: frame deflection beyond 1% of the span, failure of welded joints or connection points, and failure of load-bearing components under normal operating load.

What it asks of you: the frame sits on footings built to our specification, and every two years — years 2, 4 and 6 — it is inspected and re-levelled. Inside the Flawless Finish Program those visits are free; without it, you arrange the inspection.

Plus 30 days for everything else. If the installation isn't right in the first 30 days, we come back and put it right at no charge. That applies to any DeckKing purchase.

We write the exclusions just as plainly: cosmetic scratches, external impact, unauthorised welding or structural modification, loading beyond rated capacity, ground movement not caused by a frame defect, and third-party installation that departs from the specification. A change in the gloss of the powder coat under UV isn't a warranty case. The full text goes out with the contract.

Why this is possible at all

Because it was designed as a system rather than as a welded structure for one particular backyard. Bolted connections, adjustable feet, a repeatable module. The very properties that let us bring a terrace back to level after four years are what let us move it to another plot after ten.

An honest detail

The frame guarantee requires three inspections. We deliver eight — one per season, with re-leveling. Five visits beyond the requirement — because "keeps the warranty" and "sits perfectly" are different things.
